Volunteer
The future of our communities is in all our hands
We see Volunteer Advisors as part of our extended staff team.
Volunteer Advisors are local people who live or work in any of the boroughs of East and North East London, who are happy to use their own knowledge of the local communities of the area to enhance and improve the services we offer.
Volunteer Advisors come from all walks of life, some have experience in working in the local community while others are only just starting out in this area. What they all have in common is a passion for the local communities in which they live and/or work and the desire to provide support where it is needed.
Volunteer Advisors fulfil a variety of roles for us, ranging from contributing their local knowledge on decision-making panels, to making visits to grant recipients as well as helping promote our funds and supporting our fundraising efforts.
Time Constraints?
As a volunteer, you can contribute your time in the evenings or during the day. Panel meetings for instance, tend take place in the late afternoon, but panel members may also be able to participate by phone or video link. As a Monitoring Support Advisor, visits can take place during the day or evening: it depends upon the group and its activities as well as your own availability.
We help communities in London, particularly those in North East London, in Barking & Dagenham, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
