Set up a Fund
A fund at the Community Foundation works just like a charitable trust. It allows you to support issues and areas of your choosing, but saves all the trouble of appointing trustees, handling investments and dealing with paperwork. Your fund is invested within our portfolio and will have its own Fund name and separate bank account. Such funds are a permanent testimony to an individual’s, family or company’s commitment to the community.
You choose charitable groups to receive grants from your Fund. You – or in the case of a Company – your employees - can be actively involved in setting criteria for specific areas or issues. We make grant recommendations and a personal management service.
Named Endowment Fund – Minimum £25,000
Endowment Funds are established with a lump sum, shares, or other form of asset, and invested within our overall portfolio. The income generated from the investment of the endowment is available annually to award in grants

Named Flow Through Fund – Minimum £10,000 per annum
Revenue Funds allow you to distribute your charitable gift to selected groups. The funds are spent in the year designated for the gift.
Acorn Funds
Acorn Funds allow you to establish an endowment Fund, but grow the Fund over a number of years. The minimum donation is £1,000 a year. This can be paid in monthly installments of just £78 plus Gift Aid per month.

Current Fees
We try and keep our costs to a minimum. We charge a fee for the administration of your fund. This includes all administration, grant assessment and investment management.
- 1% of market value of endowment funds of £250,000 and over
- 1.25% of market value of endowment funds under £250,000
- 1.25% of the market value of Acorn Funds
- 10% of flow through funds
The Community Foundation also retains any short-term interest on unspent balances.
