By making a donation you will make a difference in local communities in East and North East London. Any donation that you make will be used to benefit local communities.
You can choose to support our work in general or donate to the Thriving Communities Fund for any one of our 10 local authority areas. At the moment, we particularly encourage you to support our East London Legacy 2012 campaign. Click here to donate online or text ELCF12 £10 to 70070.
We can accept donations in cash or in other forms of assets such as shares and property.
We can help you make donations in a tax-effective manner. The simplest way for UK taxpayers to donate is by Standing Order or by Direct Debit using Gift Aid. This can increase any donation, providing us with a further £25 for every £100 you donate, at no extra cost to you. Higher rate taxpayers can even reclaim the difference between basic rate and higher rate tax through their personal tax allowances. You can only gift aid your donation if you are a UK tax payer and that you pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to (or greater than) the amount of tax that will be reclaimed on your donation.
Donate your Tax Refund
If you have completed a self-assessment tax return and are due a repayment, you can choose to nominate the East London Community Foundation to receive this as a donation.
Donate through your Payroll
There is no restriction on the amount that can be given through the Payroll Giving scheme - up to an employee’s maximum taxable earnings - and every penny we receive from you will go towards supporting local people. The amount you choose to give is deducted from your salary before calculating Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax. This way you automatically get tax relief on the value of donations at your top rate of tax. You can stop making a donation at any time.
