The Community Foundation Network
TheEast London Community Foundation is one of 56 community foundations across the United Kingdom and of over 1000 worldwide.
The concept comes originally from the United States, where over a hundred years ago, local philanthropists pulled together existing but dormant funds under the banner of community foundations. In order to ensure that these funds would benefit communities for then and in future, the capital was invested and only interest gained was given out in grants.
